Apply to present your research at the Western Student Research Conference (WSRC), Western University’s annual university-wide and multidisciplinary undergraduate research conference currently running in its third year. The WSRC strives to showcase research and work from students of all faculties, attracting researchers from universities across Ontario.
Applications for WSRC 2017 are now closed. Selected applicants for this year's conference have been contacted.
Students can present their work in two formats:
If you have any further questions regarding the application process or presenting at WSRC, please contact our research team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Descriptions should include an introduction to your research topic, relevant background information, an overview of objectives, methods and results (if applicable), and the significance of the research. Descriptions should be accessible to a broad academic audience (including those who may not be experts in your field of research) and should be free of spelling and grammar errors.
Suggestions for how to write an abstract for a conference can be found here. Note: While the application does not limit word count, word count will be checked during the selection process and penalties will be assigned to submissions that exceed 200 words.
This year, monetary prizes will be awarded to the top three presenters in both presentation formats (oral and poster), all abstracts will be published in the Western Undergraduate Research Journal and two will be selected to be published in the STEM fellowship journal.

Judges play an integral role in our application process and in day-of conference events during which prizes will be offered to students for their research work and presentations. We are currently recruiting graduate students (Masters, PhD and post-doctoral), faculty members, and researchers to be abstract and conference judges for the 2017 WSRC. All participating judges will receive free entry.
